A year later...

... That's right amigos, it's been a year since my first blog on blog spot (a little over actually), and half of 2008 is gone, so I thought I would delight you all with some ramblings and updates.

So what's going on? Not a whole lot here, just living the dream. Seriously, not much is happening. Since the year began though, I've been keeping occupied. In January, I met a beautiful woman named Erin, and we've hanging out constantly ever since. She is fantastic! Very smart, fun, humorous, pretty, genuine, and so on. We've already done a lot together. Sure, a lot of it is hanging out here, either at home, at the movies, a concert, or hiking, but we also went to Chicago in March where we had a pretty good time and to Gunnison in June to hang out with some good family friends. Seems like these are two of many trips to come.

Speaking of trips, went to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico at the end of April. Went with brother Mike for a week and had a great time. And that's not all I'm planning this year. This winter I'm planning on heading to the East to see some friends and meet Erin's family (gulp ;). There's even talk of heading to Las Vegas for Thanksgiving with the my rents and bros (we'll see if that happens though)...

Work is going alright. Keeping me busy, that's for sure. But I'm doing pretty well there. I haven't really had any management opportunities appear yet, but I'm keeping optimistic for the near future. As you may have heard, Staples recently bought my employer (Corporate Express), but this really won't impact me for some time (if at all). Everything else is going well with work, so there's no need to look for an immediate change.

What else have I been doing for fun? Let's see... Erin and I went Dog Sledding with the fam in March, that was a blast, as usual. I've had a few Shindig's at my place, including a poker night, a game night, BBQ, and Mat's going away party. Haven't been to too many shows so far this year. Billy Joel and Death Cab for Cutie have been the only two so far this year (Jimmy Eat World was late December, so they don't count). But don't worry, I have America, the Foo Fighters, The Offspring, and the Counting Crows all on the way.

Now, as you might have guessed, I haven't been very active this year so far. I'm telling you that so you won't have to say something like "you look so skinny" or "you've lost a lot of weight, haven't you?". There are a number of reasons why I haven't been as active this year. Some of the time I could be active is spent with Erin (and there are no complaints there for sure), but other things have prevented me from getting a move on, like working late, being sick (courtesy of Mexico), and fun activities like concerts and meeting up with friends. Alas, there's hope out there yet. Been playing soccer again, reving up to start racquetball soon, getting my hoop on weekly with some co workers, getting Erin into Yoga, and hopefully getting some more running and lifting in soon... With softball and volleyball, since it's summer and all :) For those of you curious, yes I have a Wii Fit, and yes, it kicks ass! So I expect to get back to form soon...

Before you ask, the fam is all doing well. Chuck is hanging with Chowder enjoying his "retirement", Sue is working hard and getting closer to her retirement, Zach is studying hard at CSU (at least harder than ever) to start his career to get closer to his retirement, Mike's still keeping the mean streets of Colorado Spring clean, Bob is doing a great job with Anna to raise Ben and Matthew, and Sable still runs my parent's place with the three turtles, Max, Shelby, and "LT" (Little Turtle"). Pets are family too (you tell my mom different, she'll smack you)... and by the way, I am still thinking about getting a dog, but still having the justification issue.

So there ya go, my life at the moment... fun huh? Everything else is doing just the fine and is the same as last time (i.e. my Condo, car, DVD collection, etc)... Hope you're all well! Drop me an e-mail or a message on MySpace or Facebook, I would love to hear what you're up to :)
